Midlands Co-operative Community Dividend

 

Stafford Netball Club have recently benefited from a £1000 Community Dividend grant to buy training and netball equipment.

 

The Midlands Co-operative Community Dividend scheme seeks to make a difference to the lives of people in the local community.

They give back 1% of there trading profit in the form of grants to local charities and good causes, so every time you shop with them you will be contributing towards helping others to help themselves.

 

The scheme has been running six years, and in that time that have donated more than £1 million to groups in the area.

 

Please note that you can only apply for a Community Dividend award if you have been a member of Midlands Co-operative for at least 6 months.

 

As a member, you can apply or nominate sports clubs and volunteer groups for grants of between £100 to £5,000. They consider applications every three months, usually towards the end of January, April, July and October.

 

The closing date for the next round of applications is 29th April 2011.

As the fund is limited and demand is high, competition for the Community Dividend awards is fierce.
