Stafford Leisurely Lunch Netball
Stafford Borough Councils new scheme, Leisurely Lunch, has proved to be a very welcome addition to the lunchtime calendar. Many staff have taken up the opportunity to get more involved in sport or physical activity during their lunch break with Netball proving most popular.
25 members of staff have registered an interest in getting involved in the lunchtime Netball sessions and 13 came to the first session on the 14th May. Those who came to the sessions were both male and female and they came from all parts of the council which is great news.
The badminton and walks sessions have also reported an increase in the number of staff members going to them with people wanting to get some exercise during their lunch break.
Stafford TAG Festival
Stafford Borough Council, in partnership with Staffordshire Police, Staffordshire RFU and Child Victims of Crime hosted their annual TAG Rugby Festival on the 24th May. 24 primary schools are took part in the festival, which was held at Stafford Rugby Club.
Many of the schools have been receiving coaching from the Police Community Support Officers, who were trained in TAG Rugby earlier in the year. These police officers have been going into the primary schools and coaching the budding rugby stars in the hope that their school will come out on top and go on to represent the Borough at the County TAG Festival.
