Newcastle-under-Lyme Sports Council hold annual Sports Person's Awards

 

Newcastle-under-Lyme Sports Council held its annual Sports Person’s Awards Evening on May 22^nd 2008 to celebrate and highlight the achievements of local sports individuals and clubs within the Borough of Newcastle-under-Lyme.

  
 

The Awards Evening took place at Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council Civic Offices with local sports persons and families celebrating the achievements of everyone during the past year. The winners were selected from nominations sent in by local sports clubs and schools.

 

The winners of the individual awards went to the following:

• Nathan Ainsworth for his success in Athletics
• Lauren Coleman for her success in Karate
• Ashleigh Grimes for her achievements in Golf
• James Hansell for his achievements in Dance
• Samuel Harris-Baskerville for his success in Long Bow Archery
• Molly Sherratt for her achievements in Schools 
  Cross-Country competitions

 

The award for ‘Administrator’ went to Nicky Fielding for her contributions to Crackley Bank primary school netball coaching sessions and other sporting activities.


The award in the teams category went to Madeley High School Boys Volleyball Team for their success in obtaining the British Beach Volleyball Championship title.
