Angling Development
Staffordshire and Stoke now has an Angling Action Group, with a core role of developing angling across the region. It is keen to support angling clubs who wish to achieve Clubmark accreditation, train further coaches, and work with schools to offer angling as an alternative and exclusive sport.
The first meeting of the County Angling Action Group for Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent was held at the Civic Centre in Stafford. The main aim of the group is to develop a sustainable infra structure for angling across the region.
It already has several clubs that are “working towards Clubmark “ accreditation. They have also delivered their first UKCC level 1 course, with a level 2 course starting on 26th June at Carney Pools, Stafford.
These clubs are keen to support delivery and form club school links. Angling fits especially well with Sport Unlimited programmes and offers skills awards for all ages. It also delivers Sports Leaders 1 and 2 with angling specific content for schools.
