Lacrosse World Championships 2010
Olympic hopeful Shaunna Thompson shares sprinting tips with England stars
European Lacrosse Champions, England, have continued their training by seeking expert coaching tips from another English hero, Shaunna Thompson. Fittingly, on St. George’s Day, the two English hopefuls shared training tips, in both speed and strength.
The England Lacrosse squad are in intense training and Shaunna Thompson, the 2012 Olympic hopeful and 2009 Gold medallist at the 200m and 100m Commonwealth Youth Games, was on hand to provide tips to the squad on how to be quick off the mark and to run rings around their opponents at the Championships. Both Shaunna and the England squad competed in a world-class weekend of running in Manchester on the 15th and 16th May. The England
squad ran in the Great Manchester 150 on the 15th May and Shaunna competed in the Great CityGames, against some of the world’s best athletes, on the 16th May.
The Great Manchester 150 is held on a four lane track, which was run by Usain Bolt to record the fastest time in history over 150m, at last year’s Great CityGames Manchester. Lacrosse is dubbed “the fastest sport on 2 feet” and the English team will be out to prove that on the track.
