Mini Kickers coaching courses in Newcastle-under-Lyme

A Football Development Programme at Newcastle Borough Council has offered the chance for children aged 3 & 4 to participate in football coaching sessions alongside their parent/guardian. The course was 5 weeks long in duration and ran during October and November. A total of 20 children took part in the sessions, 11 at Knutton Recreation Centre and 9 at Kidsgrove Sports Centre.

The programme was delivered to allow adults to participate in the coaching session on a one-to-one basis with their child. The coaches led the 45 minute sessions which covered the basic skills of football. These skills included passing, turning, dribbling and shooting.

The course is an ideal way for young children to learn and enjoy themselves in a safe environment, whilst spending time with their parents/guardians. All sessions were held indoors within the sports hall at one of the Borough’s leisure centres.

The course was very successful and the coaches received positive feedback, both verbal and on evaluations, from parents and children alike.
