Staffordshire swimming update
Sport England and the ASA are working together to initiate a new project called Everyday Swim which aims to increase participation in swimming. There are 10 regional pilots around the country, each with a different focus. These projects will be created by working with local communities to introduce new, exciting and innovative ideas to increase participation. For further information
regarding Everyday Swim visit www.everydayswim.org
One focus for swimming within the Staffordshire County Sport Partnership is to assist clubs with the accreditation process and provide access to the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) requirements of Swim 21. A recent Team Manager Training evening was attended by eight volunteers representing six Staffordshire clubs. A further CPD opportunity has been arranged to provide clubs with the latest
information regarding the changes to the National Plan for Teaching Swimming. It is anticipated that further CPD opportunities will be available either at Riverside Leisure Centre or at the new Stafford Leisure Centre.
