£125 now available to coaches qualified in 2008 

Those Coaches who have attended a Staffordshire organised UKCC 1 Assistant Coach and UKCC 2 Coach Award course during the period January 2008 to December 2008 are eligible to apply for financial support of £125 per Coach.

 

If your coaching course has been subsidised by means other than your Cricket Club, then you will not be eligible for this financial support.

For administrative purposes the money will be paid to the coaches club who then should reimburse the coach.

There is still money available on this scheme but no applications will be accepted after 31st December 2008.

Staffordshire Cricket calls fundraising meetings
*** Fantastic opportunity not to be missed  ***

After a consultation period with some new partners, Staffordshire Cricket have organised two fundraising meetings.

With some brand new ideas, there are genuine chances for clubs to earn several thousand pounds each year. These are meetings with great opportunities that clubs should not ignore.

Staffordshire Cricket planned two meetings; one in the north and one in the south.

The South meeting took place on Tuesday 25th November at
Himley Cricket Club,
Stourbridge Road,
Himley,
South Staffs,
DY3 4LB

The North Meeting will take place on Tuesday 2nd December at
Clayton Sports Centre,
Stafford Avenue,
Newcastle,
Staffs,
ST5 3BN

The meetings are for PROACTIVE fundraisers looking to make serious money for their clubs.

Staffordshire Academy/EPP Programme 2008/09

Staffordshire Cricket is delighted to announce that the Staffordshire Academy which has operated successfully for the past three years has now been integrated into the ECB Emerging Players Programme(EPP) for 2008/09.

The academy will continue to be supported by Derbyshire County Cricket Club who over the three year period, have taken four players from our academy onto their first class academy including Georgia Elwiss and Danielle Wyatt who graduated at the start of the 2008 season.

Consequently, they are keen to maintain links with Staffordshire Cricket and willing to assist the county to further develop our talented young cricketers in the hope that more young players will progress to the first class ranks.

Staffordshire women's winter training & 2009 season  

Trials & Winter Nets

There will be an open trial / training session on 7th December 2008 at Sandon High School from 1pm to 4pm.

It will be expected that all those who wish to be considered for the Staffs Women’s senior squad for 2009 attend this session. If for some reason you cannot attend please can you contact either Helen Pack or myself and let us know if you wish still to be considered for the squad for 2009.

Coaches

As some of you may be aware Mick Womble’s work commitments have required him to be relocated to Northern Ireland for 6 months and as such Mick Womble will not be able to run the winter sessions.

Mick however was extremely keen to continue to work with the squad and has been retained as the coach for Staffs Women for 2009 and will be back in early April ready for the 2009 season.

In his absence Mick Wood, who worked with us with last year, has agreed to run the winter net sessions. Mick will arrange for other specialist coaches to attend each session depending on what the sessions are covering.
