The day promises to offer a fantastic opportunity to learn a new game as well as meet a former England captain!!
Leagues are due to begin on 9th January at U11 and U13 level, and 16th January for U16 and U19.

Staffordshire Cricket is organising new junior indoor cricket leagues at Wolverhampton Sports Arenas beginning in January 2010. All junior teams across Staffordshire are being invited to enter a fun and exciting winter cricket opportunity!
Indoor cricket is an ideal way for players to improve their skills all year round for outdoor cricket as well as developing specific skills for indoor cricket.
Indoor cricket offers players a fun environment in which to play and get involved in a fast paced and exciting game. It also presents players with the opportunity to have a genuine chance of gaining International recognition and challenge themselves against the world’s best.
Staffordshire Cricket will be setting up 4 leagues at U11, U13, U16 and U19 age groups. The leagues will run on alternate weekends with U11 and U13 beginning on 9th January and U16 and U19 on 16th January. Each team will play 2 games per day and play in an
At the end of the League season a select team will be picked to play against a touring South Africa international team at U11 and U13 level. From this team 1 player will be selected to represent England in a test match vs the South Africans. At U16 and U19 level in 2011 a World Cup is to be held in South Africa which will involve U16 and U19 England teams, with the correct practice and key skills potential England internationals could well be in the wings of this competition.
Staffordshire Cricket will be hosting an open day on Saturday December 12th where teams are invited to attend, meet international players, learn the rules and have a go for themselves!!

ECB CA National Conference 2010
The ECB Coaches Association has announced details of the ECB CA National Conference 2010, entitled ‘Character, Captaincy & Leadership’.
The event will take place at Warwick University Conference Park on January 23 and 24.
Topics covered will include talent pathways, ways to build team spirit, developing leadership qualities in young people, and identifying what makes successful leaders and teams.
For coaches working anywhere between Community and Elite level, the Conference is an excellent opportunity to broaden knowledge by listening to some of the top coaches in the country explaining their approach to preparing and developing players.
Day one will feature a key note presentation by rugby's Ian McGeechan OBE, while workshops across the two days will be led by a host of experts including Mike Gatting, Paul Farbrace, Charlotte Edwards, Mark Lane and England team director Andy Flower.

Staffordshire Cricket One to One coaching
Staffordshire Cricket have announced new programmes for one to one coaching in January, February and March 2010. The programmes will be coached by representative level coaches from the Staffordshire Cricket staff.
There will be 4 week programmes in each month at two centres, Clayton Sports Centre in the north of the county and Streetley High School in the south.
These programmes sold out during November and December. There will be a charge of £110 per 4 week programme with a coach writing a report at the end of the sessions.

World Cup Winning Captain Due In Staffordshire
Knypersley Cricket Club have confirmed that Charlotte Edwards the England World Cup winning captain will be speaking at the club in the new year.
Charlotte will be guest speaker at a sports persons evening at the club on Friday 26th March 2010. Tickets are expected to be £10 per person. Further information can be obtained from Roger Butler on 07842 440828
