SASSOT, in partnership with Aiming High, would like to invite applications from individuals who are interested in becoming a Disability Coach Mentor.
If you have experience in coaching disabled sports participants and feel you have the necessary skills to pass on this knowledge then we would like to hear from you. As a Disability Coach Mentor, you would be expected to work one to one with a sports coach who would like some help and support in coaching disabled groups. By providing structured feedback with the support of the SASSOT team, you will assist the coach in becoming confident when delivering to disabled
groups and offer methods for how coaching sessions can be inclusive, enjoyable and can meet learning objectives.
You will be expected to be able to work flexibly, have good communication skills and have a passion for coaching disabled groups. You will be a Level 2 qualified coach in at least one sport, hold an Enhanced CRB check that has been issued within the past 12 months and be willing to take out Public Liability Insurance for a minimum of £5 million for coaching your sport. The role will involve the Mentor entering in to a contract with SASSOT, with the payment
for services to the Mentor processed either on a self employed basis, through a private company or through a sports club.
As a Disability Coach Mentor, you will deliver 10 hours mentoring support to a sports coach in return for a total payment of £500, fully inclusive of all costs such as preparation time and travel expenses. There are 5 contracts available under the same conditions, therefore providing the opportunity to act as a Mentor to more than one coach.
