Places People Play: London 2012 mass participation legacy plans unveiled
The Olympic and Paralympic stakeholders this morning (15/11) came together to announce plans for the mass participation legacy from the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The £135 million initiative has been made possible by the Government’s National Lottery reforms, which are bringing additional funding into grassroots sport.
These facilities will be the only ones to carry the London 2012 Inspire mark, a permanent celebration of their role in the legacy of the Games.

We will be consulting disabled people and those who support them on how we can focus some additional investment - at least £8 million - on tackling the barriers they face when they want to play sport, as well as making sure that every element of this programme works for disabled sportsmen and women too.
County Sports Partnership Lottery funding confirmed following successful year
Sport England has confirmed long-term National Lottery funding for all 49 county sports partnerships (CSPs) across the country. This follows a successful year in which they helped sports governing bodies to deliver their participation programmes and brought over £61 million of extra investment into sport.

A tool has been developed to help local authorities in England to generate a sporting profile for their area in the form of charts and tables, bringing together facilities data, demographics, health, sports participation and market segmentation.
