Staffordshire Coach Education is voted best in the Country Great news for the Coaches that have been tutored and for those yet to be tutored in Staffordshire, in that your Coach Education Team were winners of the "Outstanding Tutuor Team National Award" at the ECB Sky Sports Coach Awards 2010 held in the Long Room at Lords Cricket Ground on Saturday 23 October.
Tutors, Leigh Rees, in his capacity as a Field Based Trainer and Ghazi Zaki as the Regional Representative for the Staffordshire Coaches Association, were invited to a two-day conference held at Lords.
In addition, Cookie Patel – Regional Training Manager, Jason Britton- Cricket Development Manager, Alan Hill – Head of the Emerging Player Programme, and Bob Askey - Cricket Development Officer Performance & Clubs were invited to the Sky Sports Coach Awards evening, where they were royally entertained at the home of cricket in the Long Room, and where they were presented on behalf of Staffordshire with the award by Steve Finn –
England fast bowler. The event was hosted by Charles Colville on behalf of Sky Sports.

Staffordshire Coach Education can hold its head up high and is regarded outside the County by other Counties as an “Exemplar to Cricket Coach Education”. We all as a County can be proud of this statement. The Coach Education team work closely as a team on course, each one of us knowing who does what and when. Paul Sims Takes Up County Post
Paul Sims, who is a police trainer based at Stafford, will assist Tim to provide better coverage for our cricket community.
Paul has been a Police Officer with Staffordshire for 22 years and currently works as a Trainer within their Crime Training Department. Throughout these 22 years, he has represented Staffordshire Police Cricket Section, The Midlands Regional Police Team and the British Police Team. He's currently Staffs Police Secretary and a British Police selector.
We hope to agree with both Tim and Paul specific cricket development group ‘responsibility’ once Paul is up to speed and we will circulate full contact details once that is done.
Staffordshire Cricket Development Manager, Jason Britton commented "I would like to welcome Paul on board and look forward to working with him in this key area of our responsibilities".
The Staffordshire Club Development Seminar will take place on Monday 31st January 2011 at Cannock Cricket and Hockey Club near to junction 12 of the M6.
This meeting will start at 7pm and the evening will consist of advice and information on NatWest CricketForce, Funding, Facilities, County board update and Volunteers (How to attract and sustain).
All clubs will be invited to attend and will be given the opportunity to have four tickets each, on a first come first served basis, with a maximum capacity of 200.
Tickets can be ordered by contacting Andy Grice andy.grice@ecb.co.uk or 07831 158522. Tickets will be free initially but if a club orders tickets then doesn’t use them there will be a charge of £10 per ticket to the club.
We advise that clubs should think about sending the following four key members. Chairman or Secretary, First Team Captain, Tea Lady or Groundsman and Junior Co-ordinator. It is vital to your club that you get a cross section of the club to come to these meetings to gain a forward thinking and diverse approach to come from your attendance.
The evening will be attended by various ECB staff plus Staffordshire directors and development team members.
It is hoped to also bring some excellent prizes along to the evening for a FREE raffle for all attendees plus we hope to announce several NatWest CricketForce supporters will come along on the evening to talk about the various offers available to clubs. One-To-One Coaching Available
Staffordshire Cricket is now operating a one-to-one coaching programme at all ages.
Development work in all areas of the game is now available with specialist coaches taken from the representative teams of the county.
