2012 Community Games
Community Games provide a wonderful and unique opportunity for communities from all backgrounds right across the West Midlands to come together to celebrate the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, to create their own Olympic or Paralympic moment and stage their own community events.
Since the Community Games programme commenced in 2009 over 43 events have been held within Staffordshire/Stoke involving over 37,000 participants!
Evaluation of the participant questionnaires highlight the impact the events are having on individuals and provides evidence of attracting a significant number of people who do not participant in sport, the arts and heritage activities.
Now is the time to get planning for 2012! Hopefully we can link the Community Games in with any community/sporting/cultural event that you are thinking of running or being part of in 2012. If you decide to link in with the Community Games programme which I hope you will do there will be help and support available to you;
Please can Community Games organisers planning an event in 2012, register their games.
If you have any questions or queries or would like to become involved in the programme please do not hesitate to contact me.
