Coalfields Regeneration Trust - Grants of up to £5000 available
The Coalfields Regeneration Trust is an independent grant-making body. We are a registered charity and limited by guarantee, governed by a board of trustees.

Coalfields Community Grant Level 1
For grants of up to £5,000
Who Can Apply
Voluntary and community sector organisations.
Branches of voluntary and community sector organisations.
Organisations with a total annual income above £100,000 are not eligible to apply for Level 1 grant funding.
Costs
We can provide up to 100% of total project costs for capital and revenue projects. Your project can run for a maximum of 12 months. Spend must be complete by March 2013.
We will not put funding towards a project that in total costs over £50,000 and we will not pay towards a salary. If you are proposing works to a building or land you will need a minimum of 2 years on your lease.
Eligible Areas
Projects should be based in an eligible coalfield community or be able to show clear and immediate benefits for an eligible coalfield community that has a high level of deprivation. Projects need to show that they benefit people from wards within the top 50% most deprived. There are eligible wards within Stoke-on-Trent, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Cannock Chase, Lichfield, Staffordshire Moorlands and Tamworth. Please contact the regional office for advice on eligible
areas.
Projects Supported
Examples of projects or activities that the Level 1 Programme could support include:
Improvements to a community facility
A training project that teaches people a new skill or enables them to get a qualification.
Setting up or supporting an existing social enterprise.
An activity that gets more people involved in physical activity or addresses a local health issue.
The establishment of a much needed new service or community activity.
The provision of childcare places for a nursery, pre-school, after-school activities and holiday schemes.
Activities that promote volunteering and get new people involved as volunteers.
When to apply
Applications can be made at any time.
An organisation can only hold one Level 1 grant in any twelve-month period.
This funding programme will run until March 2013.
Examples of Approved Level 1 Projects
Porthill Park Cricket Club - cricket pitch covers.
Silverdale Cricket Club – new carpet in clubhouse.
Access Tai Chi - specialist sessional staff to deliver Tai Chi.
Camp Hill Education, Sports and Social FC - equipment and kit to establish a new under 8’s football team.
Florence Tennis Club - sessional tennis coaching staff after school and in the holidays and Tennis Coaching courses
Heath Hayes FC - floodlighting
