Staffordshire Moorlands District Council

Young People GET INVOLVED in Sport

Saturday 6th October saw the second Jump into Sport event take place in Market Square, Stafford. The event is organised by the Sports Development team and aims to promote the service that is provided by the council and also promote the excellent sports clubs who operate within the Stafford Borough area.

Netball, Football, Cricket and Athletics taster sessions were on offer for everyone to try and hundreds of people did just that. There were young and old having a go at the sessions where they also picked up information on how to get involved in sport and physical activity in the Stafford Borough area.

Information on offer to members of the public varied from half-term information for young people, to sports club information for anyone that was interested in taking up a particular sport.

The event raised awareness of what is available with regard to sport and physical activity in the area and all people who took part in the activities thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

For more information on sport in the Stafford Borough area please contact the Sports Development team on 01785 619565.
