Could you be a Kellogg's Swim Champion?
The ASA are looking for volunteers to become Kellogg’s Aquatic Champions in Staffordshire and Stoke in order to encourage more people to take up swimming and aquatics as part of a healthy lifestyle.
A Kellogg’s Swim Champion can be anyone who has a genuine passion for working with other people and can use swimming and aquatic exercise as the motivator to getting more people in their community active.
Training for the role will take place on Tuesday 16th November from 10.00am – 1.00pmat Stafford Leisure Centre. The course aims to equip the ‘champion’ to talk to their local community group, inspire and energise them, find out what sort of aquatic exercise appeals to them and then help sign post them to the right activity at the right place at the right time!
Bruce Learner, Corporate Responsibility Manager at Kellogg’s, said: “We’re aiming to train up 1000 Swim Champions around the country this year to remind people how enjoyable swimming can be and of course what good exercise it is. For many people, I believe that a friendly familiar face, a structured introduction, or re-introduction to the local pool is all the encouragement needed so that’s what we’re trying to do with this
project.”
For more information and to sign up to the course please contact Jodi Adams on jodi.adams@swimming.org or 07824 389746.
