County Sports Partnership Update

SASSOT Sports Club Accreditation Funding - 6th Round now open 

The SASSOT Sports Club Accreditation funding scheme aims to increase the number of sports clubs being accredited or re-accredited with Clubmark, NGB Accreditation or the SASSOT QualityMark.  

 

The 6th round is now open and funding is available to sports clubs who require financial assistance to achieve and pass their accreditation criteria, although it cannot be used for NGB coaching qualifications.

Sports clubs requiring funding for coaching qualifications can apply to the SASSOT Coach Scholarship funding scheme.

 

All sports clubs benefiting from this funding must be based within Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent to qualify and commit to achieving accreditation within 6 months.

 

Applications can only be received from sports clubs, NGBs, Local Authority or SSP partners. NGB, LA and SSP partners can submit applications for more than one sports club. All applications will be assessed by the SASSOT Workforce Steering Group.

 

Born to Bike, Burton Uxbridge Table Tennis Club, Kano Judo Club, Oakamoor Cricket Club and Staffordshire Youth Anglers were all successful in securing funding in Round 5 for club accreditation or re-accreditation.

 SASSOT Partner Satisfaction Survey
2010

These are some of the positive comments that have been received through SASSOT's fourth 'Partner Satisfaction Survey’.  This year saw the creation of two different surveys to capture both a corporate response from core funding partners and a wider partnership response. The 2009 survey questions were used with some additional questions added to encompass views on new areas of work, SASSOT grant schemes and value ratings. 

 

Who answered the survey?

• 48 partners responded to the questionnaires which was an additional 18 responses compared to last year’s survey. 
• 9 of the 13 core funding partners responded to the questionnaire. 
• The highest percentage of responses came from NGB (35.9%), LA (25.6%), Education (23.1%) and others (15.5%)
  

Headline Results:

From Core Funding Partners

• 100% partners felt that SASSOT's contribution to partnership working was either good or excellent
• 88.9% of partners rated the level of support from SASSOT as either good or excellent
• 100 % of respondents felt that the availability and helpfulness of staff was either good or excellent
• 88.9% of respondents felt that staff knowledge within their respective work areas was either good or excellent
• 100% of respondents felt that SASSOT's communication with partners was either good or excellent
• On a scale of 1-10 (1= Low / 10=High) partners were asked how much they valued the work of SASSOT.  100% valued the work of SASSOT as a scale 7 or above.  The highest value rating was 10 (44.4%). 

 

From Wider Partners (NGBs/PDMs/ SDOs etc)

•  90.9% partners felt that SASSOT's contribution to partnership working was either good or excellent
• 87.9% of partners rated the level of support from SASSOT as either good or excellent
• 100% of respondents valued Coach Scholarship Fund, 93.3% valued Sport Club Accreditation Fund and 70% valued ACCESS Across Staffordshire Fund.  The remaining percentage all stated that they did not know.
• 100 % of respondents felt that the availability and helpfulness of staff was either good or excellent
• 93.8% of respondents felt that the CSPs communication with partners was either good or excellent

A number of recommendations have been established by the Executive Board and Core Team.  These will be implemented over the forth-coming months to improve the service provided by SASSOT. For more detailed analysis please view the full survey results

Cath's Baby Arrives

 

Congratulations to Catherine Pendlebury and her husband Phil on the birth of their baby daughter.

Cath, who is South Staffordshire Athletics Network Co-ordinator, gave birth to Alice Patricia on Monday 20th September, with baby weighing in at 9lb 1oz.
