New grant giving charity sported. recruiting mentors in Staffordshire
Having achieved initial success in Coventry and Warwickshire, the new capacity building and grant giving charity sported. has exciting plans to offer its services to organisations delivering community sports projects to disadvantaged young people across Staffordshire.
To offer their capacity building service sported. is currently recruiting a network of volunteer mentors who can assist in delivering the one to one support much needed by local community sport providers.
Volunteer opportunities are flexible, backed by access to training opportunities and provide an excellent opportunity for personal development whilst having an positive impact on local communities.
Mentors work with sport providers in the community and voluntary sports sector on the business side of their organisations through supporting in many of the following areas: business planning, financial management, press and PR, policies and procedures, governance, marketing and HR.
Suitable volunteers may come from any of the following backgrounds:
Corporate sector employees
Members of existing successful Sports Clubs
Voluntary Sector professionals
University students
Retired professionals
Or many others
Whilst mentors are being recruited sported. is also keen to hear from organisations and groups in Staffordshire who believe they may benefit through the services offered.
Further information is available on the sported. website at www.sported.org.uk or through contacting John Ellery on the details below.
