She studied Sports Development and Coaching at Staffordshire University where she realised she wanted to pursue a career in sports development.

Newcastle Town Netball Club win National Award
Having won the West Midlands Netball Nextgen award, Newcastle Town Netball Club, were put forward to the national final (one of only 4 clubs put forward for this award).
On September 19th at the England Netball Goalden Globe Awards, Newcastle Town Netball Club beat off their rivals to be awarded the Nextgen Award.
The Nextgen Award is presented to an organisation (e.g. club, county, school or university) which has made an outstanding contribution to developing, training and supporting their new and young netball volunteers.
Newcastle Town has an extremely effective recruitment process for both new and young volunteers, commencing at year 6 and upwards. The support provided for these new volunteers stems from an experienced infrastructure within the club, who are always on hand to assist, giving practical and moral support. Volunteers are recognised through newsletters and the club ensure that all costs for courses are met by funding applications so no cost is born by the club member. SASSOT has been vital in providing funding for the coaches, and the club are extremely grateful.
The club has raised awareness of volunteers on a local, county regional and national level, providing volunteers at local tournaments, as well as coaches and umpires for county and regional talent days. All of these attributes are why Newcastle Town Netball Club are so deserving of this award.
