Credit Crunch Busting Cycling Course…8 weeks for just £5
From this Tuesday (22 September 2009) 11 to 19 year olds can enjoy an eight-week cycling course for just £5. The Sports Development team at Stafford Borough Council will be running the course as part of the Sport Unlimited project.
The Sports Development team at Stafford Borough Council will be running the cycling course in conjunction with the Road Safety and Sustainable Travel Unit at Staffordshire County Council as part of the Sport Unlimited project. Sport England has recently invested £36 million into Sports Unlimited, which is a three-year programme that will increase sporting opportunities for 11 – 19 year olds.
Kath Fenn, Sports Development Officer at the Borough Council commented: “It is great to be able to introduce this cycling course for 11 to 19 year olds as part of the Sport Unlimited project. We hope this affordable course with weekly sessions will encourage more young people to get active and take up the sport.”
Bikes and safety equipment can be provided if required, but if participants have their own bikes they are welcome to bring them along.

The tennis coaching will take place at Stafford Sports College every Monday between 6.00pm and 7.00pm from 21 September until 16 November (excluding Monday 26 October).
All sessions will be led by qualified coaches and are designed to teach the basics of tennis and encourage more young people to take up the sport.
