Nominate your volunteer heroes now
Take action now – nominate your local volunteering hero.
If you know a truly inspiring volunteer, now’s the time to nominate them for a Volunteer Staffordshire Award.
The inaugural award ceremony, which is part of the Volunteer Staffordshire campaign run by Staffordshire County Council and the county’s Volunteer Centres, will celebrate the outstanding work of volunteers across our county.
And the thousands of sports volunteers across Staffordshire have the opportunity to be recognised with a category dedicated especially to them.
You can nominate your local heroes in any of eight categories:
Staffordshire Volunteer of the Year
Staffordshire Young Volunteer of the Year (volunteers under the age of 25)
Staffordshire Volunteer Team Award
Lifetime Achievement Award
Community Good Neighbour Award
Volunteer co-ordinator of the Year
Sporting Volunteer of the Year
Business Contribution to Volunteering
Ben Adams, Cabinet member for Communities and Culture, said: “The Volunteer Staffordshire Awards is about celebrating and thanking those that often go unnoticed – our volunteers.
Whatever they do, volunteers are helping to build stronger communities, and give something back to where they live. They are special people, and these awards will recognise, celebrate and thank them for their huge contribution.
Volunteers don’t ask to be recognised for what they do, but they deserve to be.
Please get involved with the awards and nominate your local hero.”
Those shortlisted will be invited to the gala awards ceremony in January.
So do you know someone who is a truly inspiring member of your community?
Find out more about the awards and nominate your local heroes at www.volunteerstaffordshire.org.uk, or at any Staffordshire Library or Volunteer Centre.
The deadline for nominations is Friday 29th October.
