Coach Education Programme 

The Coach Education Programme for 2010-11 has now been released. 

 

A guide to applying for the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) Coaching Qualifications can be downloaded from Staffordshire Cricket's website. You will find courses for level 1 and 2 together with an application form.

There are also Coach development workshops and a new club coach award this winter.

2011 sees Staffordshire’s third NatWest CricketForce showcase event,
taking place on March 19th and 20th 2011

The showcase club will work with marketing and funding officer Andy Grice to get the benefit of help from local companies, media and Staffordshire Cricket.

The club will have to commit to forming a NatWest CricketForce committee and be able to gain help from a significant amount of members for the weekend. This should be a well thought out project with impact on the club and its participants.

All clubs will be able to nominate themselves and nominations must be received by October 10th 2010. No nominations will be processed after midnight on this date.

The judging panel will include : Selected members of the Staffordshire Cricket Executive Committee plus Andy Grice, Alison Grimley and Bob Askey.

The England women’s selectors have named a 15-strong squad for the tour of Sri Lanka in November.

England, who have again included Staffordshire all rounder Danielle Wyatt (pictured above), will play two one-day internationals and a Twenty20 international series in Colombo from November 14-22.

Wyatt, who has recently toured India and been to the T20 world cup n the West Indies is in good form at the moment having secured several five wicket hauls plus three centuries in the last 12 months.

Essex left-arm pace bowler Beth MacGregor has been called into the squad, along with wicketkeeper Lauren Griffiths (Cheshire), Fran Wilson (Somerset) and Susie Rowe (Kent) from the England women’s Academy.

Katherine Brunt and Holly Colvin will remain in England to complete a strength and conditioning programme and to focus on university studies respectively, to ensure they are both available for the Ashes tour to Australia in January.

Sarah Taylor has opted to take some time off from international cricket.

Clare Connor, head of women’s cricket, said: “The selectors have named a dynamic England women's squad for the forthcoming tour of Sri Lanka.

“Without three influential players, opportunities are being given to Academy graduates Fran Wilson, Susie Rowe and Lauren Griffiths.

“All three players have had excellent seasons for their counties. They also impressed for the Academy in India earlier this year and against New Zealand in July.

“It is essential that we always have a keen eye on player succession planning. Blooding some of our Academy talent on the full international stage in Sri Lanka will show exactly where we are in terms of the journey towards the World Cup in 2013.”

One-to-One Coaching Available

 

Staffordshire Cricket is now operating a one to one coaching programme for all ages.

Development work in all areas of the game is now available with specialist coaches taken from the representative teams of the county.
