(Marshal, scorer)
Pick an event and get friends to train with you and take part
(Charity run, bike ride)

Becoming a Sport Maker is easy and you don't have to be 'super fit and sporty' to get involved. Each and every Sport Maker will play a vital role in inspiring and enabling the people around them (friends, family, work colleagues, neighbours) to become more active and take up sport. We will support you all the way with an introductory workshop, support network and lots of contacts and activity ideas.
Not a coach?
Don't forget, you don't have to actually coach sport to be a sports volunteer. Your skills or interests may lie in a wide range of fields such as organisation, fundraising, events or IT - all of which are areas where you can make a huge difference in our local sports clubs.
2. If you decide you do want to become a Sport Maker, you will need to come along to one of our workshops. Here, you will get all the tools and information you need to become a Sport Maker and will receive your official Adidas Sport Makers kit.
3. Make sport happen! We will ensure you have all the resources and networks you need to organise your own sports event or find opportunities to help others organise theirs. In return, we simply ask you to log your sport-making hours in your online journal.
Calling All Clubs
Do you need qualified coaches or match officials, support with a club event, ground staff or even support with setting up a club website? We can help find suitable volunteers to support any number of roles within your club. If your club is in need of additional volunteer support please register on the Sport Makers website.
What Is Happening in Staffordshire & Stoke-on-Trent?
In Staffordshire & Stoke-on-Trent we are looking to recruit 800 new volunteers into sport by providing a range of different placements. We are working closely with Volunteer Centres, Universities, Colleges, NGBs and Community Clubs to identify opportunities to deploy Sport Makers in the areas/sports where the need is greatest.
The Sport Makers programme was launch locally on 7th November at Staffordshire University. Potential 2012 athletes attended to support the programme and champion the vital role that sport volunteers play. For information and photographs from the event visit our Facebook page.
