Athletics
Athletics is consistently Britain's most successful sport on the international stage.
England Athletics acknowledges the potential impact that the Sport Across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Partnership will have on continuing this trend.
Star:track acts as a full introduction to athletics for 8-13 year olds, regardless of ability, gender or ethnic background.
The Star:track Challenge has been introduced specifically to provide the opportunity for young people (7-12 year olds) involved in the Norwich Union Star:track scheme to receive a Norwich Union shine:award.
The young Athletics League provides track and field competition for 11-16 year olds and has seen many of todays senior athletes pass through it's ranks.
For more information on all the athletics initiatives mentioned above please visit the UK Athletics website at www.uka.org.uk/
Established in July 2009, the South Staffordshire Athletics Network (SSAN) is one of over fifty national athletics networks set up by Engalnd Athletics with the support of McCains.
SSAN is a partnership of athletic and road running clubs working alongside other partners and sporting bodies to improve the sport at a local level.
We are creating opportunities for beginner runners to get into the sport. Our target is to introduce (or re-introduce) 1000 people to running by creating 50 new running groups led by qualified and insured leaders, which will run for at least six weeks. More information
