Swimming
In this era of computer games and video consoles, young people need a sport that not only gives them the opportunity to compete, but is also GREAT FUN, add on to that the need for safety around water and you can see, there is no better sport than Swimming.
Sport Across Staffordshire & Stoke-on-Trent is committed to providing opportunities for all ages to develop their swimming skills to the best of their ability. This includes providing an introduction to Accredited swimming clubs where they can access the best quality instruction from fully qualified teachers and coaches. Teacher/Coach education takes a high priority and clubs are encouraged to access the comprehensive
SASSOT Coach & Club Education programme.
Swim 21 is the accreditation requirement for Swimming Clubs and ensures that Accredited Clubs are working to correct procedures with regard to the Long Term Athlete Development and Child Protection. Teachers and Coaches regularly attend CPD (Continuing Professional Development) workshops to ensure that their knowledge is up to date.
Staffordshire & Stoke on Trent Partnership have recently appointed Nathan Hilton as Partnership Club Development Coach. Nathan will be working closely with Coaches, Teachers and Swimmers to further enhance the existing opportunities within our Partnership.
