ACCESS Across Staffordshire Funding Scheme
What Is It?
This funding scheme is designed to support projects which enable widened access to sport for under-represented groups in Staffordshire & Stoke-on-Trent. These include:
- Women and Girls
- Disabled People
- Black Minority Ethnic Communities
- Low Socio-Economic Groups
Who Is It For?
The fund is open to Local Authorities, National Governing Bodies of Sport and School Sports Partnerships who require financial assistance to support or develop a new project which has an equality theme and fits into one of the following categories:
What Are Funding Themes?
1) Club Development
- Increasing the opportunities for under-represented groups to take part in sport and active recreation o increase the opportunities for under-represented groups to access sports clubs.
- To initiate work towards EFDS Clubmark accreditation standard
- To develop new clubs / teams
2) Workforce & Volunteer Development
- Increase the training opportunities for under-represented groups
- Up skill the knowledge of the existing workforce on engaging with under-represented groups
- Increasing volunteering opportunities
3) Marketing & Communications
- To raise the profile of under-represented groups participating in sport and physical activity
- To develop a 'one stop shop' for opportunities available for under-represented group
The partnership has already awarded £18,972 to various projects across the county and is hoping to release a further round of funding in November 2010.
