Young Volunteers: Making a Difference to Sport in England

All clubs rely on volunteers for their existence - they are the unsung heroes of sport. Sport Across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent values the role they play and is keen to attract more of them and reward those that do get involved.

2005 was the "Year of the Volunteer" (YV05) - a year long celebration of the amazing work volunteers do and call to action to get more people volunteering. The four main objectives were:

increase the number of volunteers
open up more volunteering opportunities in the public and voluntary sector
raise the profile of the work volunteers are doing nationwide
thank volunteers everywhere for their time and commitment
