Volunteer Resources

Click on the link below to access a document that outlines case studies relating to how to get the best out of your young volunteers:

All clubs rely on volunteers for their existence - they are the unsung heroes of sport. Sport Across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent values the role they play and is keen to attract more of them and reward those that do get involved.

2005 was the "Year of the Volunteer" (YV05) - a year long celebration of the amazing work volunteers do and call to action to get more people volunteering. The four main objectives were:

  • increase the number of volunteers
  • open up more volunteering opportunities in the public and voluntary sector
  • raise the profile of the work volunteers are doing nationwide
  • thank volunteers everywhere for their time and commitment
