Workshop Programme 2011 -2012 

Sport Across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent (SASSOT) coordinates a comprehensive Workshop Programme using the following providers, sports coach UK, runningsports and Royal Life Saving Society.  The programme is planed across the Staffordshire County for all coaches and volunteers to access.  Using these providers we are able to offer a wide variety of workshops on topics such as child protection, disability, equity, communication, funding and fitness.  

 

  

As with all SASSOT workshops, please check with your National Governing Body to ensure they recognise/accept the award given to you as it is your responsibility to ensure the certificate you receive will be accepted by your NGB.   

The Coaching Disabled Performers workshop is a requirement for clubs working towards Swim 21 Accreditation - please check with your NGB.

running sports		This course is designed to be attended by volunteers in a club, (possibly a club or committee member, or the volunteer co-ordinator).  It shares similar introductory material to the 'Equity in your coaching' workshop.  scuk advise that it is important that the same person does not attend both courses.	£25.00

WORKSHOP PROVIDER	TITLE	FIRST AID FOR ALL - INCLUDES ALL SPORTS If the Sport is cricket - you will receive a ECB First Aid Certficate - As reqired by your ECB.	Cost
RLSS		The course will provide you with knowledge of how to deal with potential life threatening injuries and teach you how to deal with a variety of situations which may occur on the cricket pitch. Please note the last 30 minutes will concern First Aid techniques related to Cricket.  Therefore, you may leave at this point if your sport is not Cricket.  When you book on this session, you must state your Sport on the application form to ensure you receive the approprate certificate.	£12.50

WORKSHOP PROVIDER	TITLE	POSITIVE BEHAVIOUR MANAGEMENT IN SPORT	Cost
Sports Coach UK		This sports coach UK workshop will help coaches to understand why challenging behaviour occurs in sport.  It will support coaches by identifying a range of practical ideas to deal with behaviour in sport and a coaching environment in a postive light. It will help coaches to recognise what creates a positive coaching evironment and the actions they need to take, that will encourage acceptable behaviour.	£25.00

training and support for those working and volunteering in

sport, including coaches, administrators, local authorities, sports

partnerships, national governing bodies and national sporting

BUSINESS ESSENTIALS AND MARKETING ESSENTIALS

 

Both courses designed for:  Sports coaches; Administrators responsible

for supporting coaches and/or running a club/coaching programme;

Committee members responsible for the coaching programme in

Cancellations & Transfers Policy (please read prior to booking)

Please note that delegates must give 5 working days notice prior to the workshop in order to receive a refund.  If less notice is given, a refund is not normally granted but an alternative date is offered for the workshop.  Alternatively, delegates may transfer their place to another member as long as SASSOT is contacted on the number above prior to the change.
