All applications for the above workshops are on a first come, first served basis. Once you have paid for your workshop, your place is confirmed by letter. You are then obliged to attend the workshop.

PLEASE READ PRIOR TO BOOKING
Please note that delegates must give 5 working days notice prior to the workshop in order to receive a refund. If less notice is given, a refund is not normally granted but an alternative date is offered for the workshop. Alternatively, delegates may transfer their place to another member as long as SASSOT is contacted on the number above prior to the change.
If SASSOT needs to cancel the workshop due to unforseen circumstances, every effort will be made to ensure you are notified.
However, please note we can only make contact with you if you provide
a contact number on the initial application form.

Safeguarding and Protecting Children 1

Sports Coach uk have now introduced the new Safeguarding and Protecting Children Workshop 2 - Reflect And Practice. Please dates below....
Please note that attendance on the SPC1 is a pre-requiste - prior to booking onto the new Safeguarding & Protecting Children 2: Reflect and Practice.
It is Your responsibility to check with your National Governing Body to ensure they accept the Sports Coach UK Safeguarding and Protecting Children qualification prior to booking on this workshop.
Due to the sensitive nature of this workshop
we have been advised by the course organisers that
people under the age of 16 should be
accompanied by an adult.

This course is designed to be attended by volunteers in a club, (possibly a club member, or member of the committee or the volunteer co-ordinator).
It shares similar introductory material to the
"Equity in your Coaching" workshop and it is important

Certificate in Managing Sports Volunteers (running sports)
From 2009 Runningsports will be running the Managing Sports Volunteers qualification at venues across England. The qualification aims to provide you with an opportunity to develop the practical side of managing volunteers while applying the theoretical learning to your own working environment. The qualification is aimed at people working with volunteers in a paid/professional capacity or volunteers in a more senior role and will be strongly linked to your own work programme.
You should consider taking this qualification if:
- You want professional recognition for your knowledge and experience in volunteer management
- You can apply the learning to your own organisation and base your assessment on your working environment
- Blended learning suits your learning style.

Multiskill Workshops (sports coach UK)
There are three workshops available - Long Term Athlete Development -
FUNdamentals of Movement and Multiskill Clubs in Practice. These may be run on the same day (Multiskill Induction) or on two different days or evenings.
The Multiskill Clubs in Practice workshop is for coaches or teachers who are multi-skill trained or of an equivalent background. Delegates attending this workshop must have attended The FUNdamentals of Movement workshop and have achieved at least Level 2 coaching qualification.

Multiskill Clubs in Practice MS3

Safe Practice, a guide to Health & Safety in a School Setting
This three hour support module is aimed at Coaches who are working with schools in Staffordshire. It coincides with the release of Association or Physical Education Safe Practise (AFPE) document, which is the document of reference for court cases relating to physical activity in schools. The current growth in the workforce supporting physical education and sport in schools, has raised the need to support these colleagues with the consistent messages in school settings.

Skillbase - Workshops for Volunteers
The Skillbase project aims to provide affordable, accessible training, meeting the needs of the voluntary and community sector, however the workshops are open to all including private and public organisations.
There are a wide variety of training workshops including IT skills, Negotiating Skills, Basic Health and Safety, Volunteer Management skills, training for committee members and trustees, Time management and Conflict awareness.
