CAN Working Delivery Plan

Research

Staffordshire Moorlands CAN carried out an audit of sport and physical activity opportunities within the District during 2007/2008.

The aim of this was to establish what was currently being provided to help inform thier delivery plan.

The audit identified 32 different sport and physical activities taking place per week that are being provided by either an instructor, facilitator or a club.

These opportunities identified have been mapped. To view where these are please click on the activities below.

Sport England Sporting Market Segmentation

Sport England has developed nineteen sporting segments building on the data gained from the Sport England Active People Survey, Mosaic tool from Experian and the Taking Part Survey.  These segments enable planners and providers of community sport to further understand different peoples attitudes and motivations towards sport and active recreation, why they play and why they don't.

Sport England Sporting Segments - further information

To assist further with the planning of the Staffordshire Moorlands CAN delivery plan Sport England was requested by CAN to carry out a mapping exercise. The aim of this was to identify where the highest population clusters of over 50yr olds are within Staffordshire Moorlands. This information will be used to help plan locations for new led walking routes and other physical activity opportunities targeted at people over 50. The maps provided looked at market segments 13 to 19.  To view these please click on the links below.
